Breakfast in Willets
I took this about an hour before we left today. We had to wait for our neighbor to move his truck a little bit so we could get by. We watched the motorcyclists camped across the way load up and zoom off. They have the packing down to a science.

Willets KOA
We started a little later this morning because Tony and Andrea's dog got ant bites, so they went to the drug store for benedryl. Poor Jilly was really scratching and going crazy.
We passed the Infineon Race Track on our way north.
Here at the KOA in Willets, not our first plan, but it worked out well. The park at Healdsburg on the Russian River didn't really suit our needs--lots of partying going on--so we drove a few more hours to Willets. Lots of kids, but quiet hours from 10-7. We are quite comfortable, will probably need a blanket tonight.

They came back!
View from the Kit Fox RV Park
From the Kit Fox RV Park in Patterson, CA
Here we are at our park in California City last night. I figured out the timer on my camera so I could get all four of us in the picture. I actually got three in a row somehow so when I look at them it resembles a little movie. Thankfully, that was the excitement for the day!
Today we drove about six hours, lunch at a truck stop and discovered the top drawer in the kitchen had shaken loose during the bumpy ride around Bakersfield. Cary and Tony managed to get it out. He now has it fixed, about 20 minutes into being here in Patterson. I hope I can get another picture of the four of us later.

Good News!
We had a great night's sleep, finally cooled off. Our friends got the AC started. Of all things, the thermostat has to be cooled down to a temp less than 105, then it works. Someone at the RV manufacturer had to call Dometic, the AC company, to find that out! Something pretty darned important to know if you live in the desert!

Hot!
We and the Finneys arrived in Indio about 2:15. Our AC wouldn't work in the first spot; we moved. It wouldn't work in the second spot; we moved again. The electrician came over and switched some wires to the breakers (as much as I understand), and now we have it. But the Finneys do not! They are going to stay in a park model (with their own bedding, linens, food, etc. but better than being hot) and an RV tech from town is coming to look at their brand new 5th wheel to see if he can fix it!
Andrea said it was hot enough to fry an egg on her head, but even when I told her it would be a great picture for the blog, she wouldn't let me crack one on her! Supper is going to be something that doesn't involve the stove or any heat at all. Salad!
