Alamogordo and La Luz

I made a cherry Danish-type dessert this morning to take along when we visit our friends in La Luz. First time baking it in the trailer, turned out fine.

If you look closely you can sort of see the Organ Mountains, ghostly because of a wildfire sparked by a military practice.

Here is a view of the back side of the Organ Mountains taken at San Agustin Pass. Many years ago we stopped here. A trucker hauling cantaloupes gave us one and let Tina go up inside the cab and explore.

Right after leaving this spot, the indicator for the trailer tires started squealing. The tires had gotten too hot! Luckily, after quite some time, they cooled off enough to get us to Boot Hill RV Park (hope that isn't a bad sign...). Wally and Patty were expecting us, so we set up camp and headed to La Luz. Patty made some wonderful tacos (with that yummy Mexican cheese), cabbage, beans and rice. I provided the dessert. Great afternoon and evening, but Cary still has to solve the tire problem, will go to an RV place tomorrow.

I also want to take pictures of Patty's gardens and some of her projects: she makes soaps and lotions, even goes to the local Farmers' Market.
