First Day of Our New Mexico Trip

Before we can pull out of the driveway, Cary has to make an adjustment or two to the truck.
It is windy here at home, so we expect more of the same along the road.

The rest stop/welcome center in Lordsburg is nice, picked up some brochures with ideas of things to see and do on the rest of our trip. Both of us our eager for some Mexican food at La Posta tomorrow night in Mesilla (after seeing all the colorful pictures in the brochures).

The Low Hi RV Park in Deming has a lot of full time occupants who are single; the LOW stands for "Loners On Wheels." This 'maze' seems to be a place where travelers have left mementos of themselves...even the little lighthouse below!

Here I am posing in front of the firepit (it's there, really), and below, Cary returns from checking out a big pit on the other side of the trees.

This is one of the most interesting trailers on the site. Paintings adorn each side and the back.

We were glad to sleep in Wednesday morning before heading to Las Cruces.
