Before the doors opened for business, I climbed up to the tower to take some pictures. Foggy again!
If I were better at directions I could tell you a little more. The white thing resembling half a pie is the cistern.
When the light used to turn in the tower, the town complained about the light flashing all night long, so part of the window either had a curtain or was painted black. There was no need to alert the townsfolk that the lighthouse was near!
The light is now automated and only flashed a signature of 3.5 seconds on, 26.5 seconds off.

The water came up right on time, but because we let in an extra group of visitors (from Canada), we got a tad bit wet going back to the parking lot. Some folks got more water than that--probably up to their calves!
After lunch Cary dropped me off here. I spent a couple of hours browsing and shopping. Well, window shopping--none of the fabric or patterns followed me home. There were vendors from Eureka, Brookings and even Coos Bay, besides some of the local shops. Andrea, if you read this, someone has taken over the shop that was the Scottie Dog place. We will spend a few day in Eureka after we leave here.
Do you see Battery Point Lighthouse in this one?
I didn't take enough pictures! I don't know if I will ever attempt to make a quilt, but maybe if I have enough inspiration...I did pick up four free quilting magazines before Cary came to get me.
While waiting in the parking lot, I wasted no time. Lovely flowers.
You can tell by the flower pictures that the sun did come out. Beautiful day. My shoes dried, all is well.
