Lone Pine

The drive from Carson City to Lone Pine was really beautiful, although with lots of downgrades, Cary found it rather stressful.
Two large lakes were on our route.

Rugged mountainsides

We had a few one way roads and delays...but they were short.

We could see snow on the mountains; Mt. Whitney is not that far away. Nor is Death Valley!

After we got settled we went back to this museum, a place we visited several years ago. It was just as fascinating.
The first two pictures are from the internet (copy and paste), but finally on Sunday morning my few pictures did finally upload. I did buy a book and Cary bought a t shirt. While we were in the museum we noticed some fire fighters. Cary started talking to one of them. He leaned closer to see what her shirt said--and she was from the Golder Ranch Fire District in Tucson! They were on call and enjoying the museum (way too young to know anything about the old westerns). Small world, as we are always discovering.

Susan, Zane Grey for you!

Tom Mix died in Arizona in a car accident.

When we checked into the RV park I saw this plate for sale. It was perfect, since today is Cary's birthday! He got lots of greetings from family and friends.

I discovered that when you click on that blank square you can find out more about the museum.
