Cary took this picture to show how far back the water was as we went out to the lighthouse this morning. There were Search and Rescue crews out there, working on the jetty. When I saw the trucks when we parked our truck, I was worried there had been an accident out on Battery Point, or even worse, that our co-worker Lee was in worse shape than he had been. What the crews were doing was to install safety cables for their use--if someone needs rescuing, the crew can attach themselves to the cables to safely reach that person. Cary drew a picture, but I am not including it!
Hmmm, it didn't look this blurry on my camera. I think I will take another picture tomorrow of the finished skirt for the sink. I will also try arranging it so it doesn't look so long!
Here I am demonstrating my walking stick, purchased at a yard sale about three weeks ago. It really comes in handy when crossing the rocks between this section of the beach and the cement walkway to the lighthouse.
Once again we had interesting tours, with interested visitors asking lots of good questions. As we got to the parking lot, not just one family shouted at us from their vehicles, "Thanks so much. It was so interesting!" One couple was from Lake Havasu, another from Israel. Two couples were from St. Petersburg, Florida--didn't know each other.
We stopped at Walmart to get potato salad, baked beans and a sandwich from the Subway inside the store. A good change for lunch.
