From Florence to North Bend

Before we left beautiful Florence, I strolled around with my camera to take in more of the atmosphere before heading to North Bend.
This guy was quite patient with me as I fiddled with my camera.

More beautiful flowers

Detail close-up of one of the decorated seals on the boardwalk. I wonder if the little girl depicted is someone personally connected to the artist. She is adorable as she reads, explores and plays.

And more flowers!

Is this Donald Trump taking a nap in front of the antique store?

Our new GPS! Cary spent some time figuring out some of the new things on it. It did take us right to the Mill Casino RV Park, so I guess he did okay! (I actually put in the destination; he did the rest.)

Look carefully to see the two wild turkeys on Susan's property!
She always findest the neatest (and most creative) objects to use for planters! She is holding a copy of a book I brought her from Tucson; Julia's Cats, co-written by one of the ladies at my gym, about Julia Child and the cats in her life.
After a yummy supper of salad and banana cream pie (no calories, she guaranteed it)--we watched a doe making its afternoon visit for apples. Sometimes she brings her twins, but we missed them this time.
Susan and I met when we opened a new school in the Sunnyside School District: Drexel Elementary, in 1972 (I think that's right)! She moved back to her home town many years ago. We always enjoy our visits.

McCullough Bridge, the entrance, of sorts to North Bend from the north.

Friday morning we headed to Bandon, a very fun town to browse. But first, a yard sale! We didn't find anything, but learned the owner moved there from Kingman, Arizona, a year ago, and loves the green!

Can you see the fisherman here?

It is windy here in Bandon, as usual! We visited a bookstore (I broke down and bought two! but they were discounted.) and the farmer's market. Cary had to hold on to the seal to keep us from blowing away!

 Farmer's Market

After driving around looking for a restaurant recommended by Susan's brother, who caddies at the Bandon Dunes, the McKee's Irish Pub wouldn't be open for two more hours! Susan drove us around some more trying to find one of the other restaurants (there are at least four golf courses here, each with its own restaurant), we went back to where we started because the restaurant next to McKee's was open. Yummy lunch and a picture.
Back home to rest up for tomorrow's adventures!
