Chanute, KS

We came to Chanute to tour the factory where our 5th wheel was made, but there were no tours on Friday. However, they have a showroom with new models that we went through. I posted the pictures in reverse order of how we spent the day...the first two pictures were taken in downtown Chanute; there was a thrift store and an old style drug store with a soda fountain.

This is in the area where some repairs were being made and, I assume, some items were being built.

Here you can see a lineup of some of the new HitchHikers.

This one really caught my eye...very, very nice!

This is inside one of the new models, but as I give it a closer inspection, not the one that was my favorite.
We may be in town a few extra days because Cary discovered some things that may give us a problem down the road...yikes! And with nothing going on over the weekend, we have to cool our jets for awhile. There is a farmers' market tomorrow, and we can always go browse Walmart. Cary is trying to locate a store that sells beer in cans, and, oh, yeah, our little fridge in the "basement" quit working--that is where is kept the beer.
One good thing about extending our stay: this park is free for two days, and it has wifi! I guess that is two things. And after 48 hours there is a whopping charge of $10 a night. We found a good Mexican restaurant nearby also.
