More Indiana

We spent the day touring the James Dean museum in Fairmount (Fairmont?), Indiana, and hoped to see the quilt museum and hall of fame in Marion, but it was closed!

Naturally we saw our share of cars. This was a real bargain. This weekend is the big James Dean weekend and car show in town, so cars were out to be seen. We missed the hoopla, but that meant we had no trouble getting a campground. I am at the rec center at the "hotspot," using the wifi.

This was my favorite! I had a 1953 Cadillac that I bought in Scottsdale, sold it to a couple in Canada 10 years ago. I still miss "Miss Daisy."

A very nice Chevy 2

Where we had lunch, a fun place if you didn't care about prompt service or good food!

This is outside the museum. No pictures were allowed inside. There were some great things in there, including some of his art work, early school papers, letters, and lots of pictures.

The gallery allowed pictures, but the fluorescent light conflicted with my flash!
The is where James bought his first motorcyle.

Of course, we had to see the cemetery where James was buried. Several years ago we visited the scene of his horrible accident in California. My husband has memorized the whole movie of Giant and uses every opportunity to show off that skill.
