Saturday, Sept. 18

Because of a little crack in the side of the trailer, we had to go buy caulk at Home Depot first thing! The crack got larger, but he just kept putting on more caulk. I guess if worse comes to worst, we will end up back at Chanute for repairs!

We try to start our Saturdays at yard sales. This guy had a '32 Ford Coupe, a '32 Ford sedan, and a '63 Dodge, but not in a place where I had enough light to take pictures!

Chanute, the man, was the mentor of the Wright Brothers.

As we headed to Missouri, we got to Moran just as the parade was ready to start. Cary asked a guy in his front yard what the occasion was...he didn't know!

There were two or three classic cars, of course.

And guys on motorcyles,

as well as this car that carried the Miss America from 1968, as well as some other pageant winners in other categories (if you can read the sign on the car, you can tell which).
No thanks to our neighbor at the RV park, we finally made it to Missouri. I don't even know what town we are near, but the campground is very nice--Happy Trails--a former KOA, with wifi and cable. And lots of humidity!

Oops, one more shot of the parade--flags from each of the 50 states.
