Texas and Oklahoma

Before we could leave Alamogordo Cary did a little rewiring so that the left turn signal would only indicate we were turning left--for one day, it looked like we were sort of confused and didn't know which way we were actually turning. Success!
In Amarillo

Here I am in a thrift store, one of my favorite places. Earlier in the day a lady in antique store told me she liked my accent and where was I from? That was pretty funny, considering we were in Texas!

This is the rest stop in Texas. Because my wifi time is sketchy at best, I am just adding pictures of some of the sights along our way.

Inside the ladies' restroom at the rest stop!

Cary reads more history, also in the rest stop.

...a little scary to see this sign, but reassuring also.

Some sights at the museum in McLean, Texas. The town itself is almost like a ghost town with people still hanging on!

This is also in McLean, Texas.

My mother's maiden name is Ackley, so I had to pose by this sign in Elk City, Oklahoma. I now need to do some research about how the name came to be.
