Florence, Day Two or The Car Show

New readers to the blog may be surprised that instead of (or in addition to) scenery, we have a page devoted to cars! People who know Cary are not surprised in the least. We actually started the day with a mobile home park community yard sale, had to take our treasures back to our trailers to make room in the truck for our bodies, then came upon the Rhody Car Club of Florence here.

This 1947 Cadillac was my favorite.

This Mercury was very nice too.

Cary thought he heard "Green Onions" playing when he passed this (as he calls it) "James Dean Merc."

The owner of this Auburn described it as a second generation vehicle, not a kit car. There are some original parts (1935) with late model running gear.

Later at the Elk's Thrift Shop we saw these--

a hardtop Mini Cooper S, the first Cary had ever seen

An early 50s Morgan (handmade cars)

Look at the size of the speedometer!
A 1958 Chevy was parked across the street from Mo's. We went in for a supply of clam chowder base.
It was a very pleasant morning, but the wind came back with a vengeance! I really wanted to get some more scenery pictures, so maybe in the morning before we leave!
