After breakfast I went out for a walk while the weather was agreeable and before heading to Bandon.
We met Susan at the Fred Meyer parking lot, put our stuff in the VW trunk and headed for Bandon, one of our favorite stops.
I really wanted to walk on the beach so that was our first stop.
These are the stairs we descended (and later, ascended)!
It looks colder than it was. Beautiful weather!
Susan walked toward the caves.
Of course we had to get some people pictures!
Face Rock. There is a legend that goes with it so I Googled it and you can read it here: http://thebandonguide.com/the-legend-of-face-rock/
Next up was lunch at the Chowder House. I forgot pictures while we were there, but found a few on the internet!
We ate outside at one of the benches and were lucky enough to get there before a huge crowd poured in. Susan had salmon fish and chips and I had a salmon sandwich. Cary got fish and chips and we all felt overfed!
The fish is an example of some local artwork done with items salvaged from the ocean!
After naps, we went back to Susan's. We played Perquackey! She had played it several years ago and was glad to see it again.
These are her flowers that the deer don't eat! made from hoes and bundt pans!
There are apple trees all over the property. I gathered two to try.
On her back porch is the lovely metal box with cheerful yellow and orange pansies. Her whole yard and house are visual delights!
She fixed supper for us again: veggie burgers, fresh green beans, more of the orange jello salad and some (ha ha) low cal ice cream bars for dessert!
