This guy was incredible--hope we never need him again, but if we did, I would not hesitate at all!
Getting his stuff ready
Checking things out. Hydraulic leveling jacks were used to raise the rear axle so that the tire could be removed to access the problem area. Whew!
Cary is pointing at the broken off ear of the spring hanger. The piece is hanging down with the bolt through it. It is supposed to be upright and welded to the bar just above the chain he is pointing out.
Jack was down there putting on the new piece.
He is a 70-year-old, old school welder. He has been doing this for 50 years He laid down some beautiful beads. When I wrote the check, I said this really is a decent price for mobile work that took 2 hours. He said I could charge you a lot more due to your situation, but I have to be able to live with myself.
After lunch we hit all the thrift stores. I found a pair of capris, a shirt, a pattern and another small food chopper. Happy!
The view from where we parked for the Humane Society thrift store. This bridge is so impressive.
