Decent night's sleep, okay breakfast. We talked to two guys who were doing a motorcycle trip. Two women came in later who spoke with a European accent. I volunteered to get our salt and pepper shakers from the room, since none was available for use on the hard boiled eggs.
We walked around outside, came across two homeless individuals, so sad. I remember Eureka as having a huge homeless population.
First thing after arriving in Eureka (and getting our bearings), we started in Henderson Center at two of our favorite thrift stores. Cary found a shirt. We also went to Joann's, since the one store didn't open till later; Cary found a chair while I browsed.
Lunch at the Lost Coast Brewery. Cary got a hamburger and I found fish tacos on the menu. Lots of food!
This beauty was in the parking lot at the restaurant. Eureka is pretty much a hippy town, so this is perfect!
I like strolling through Old Town--found a picture on the internet by Jan Kronsell:
WE spent most of the time in bookstores; I found a sewing book.Ocean Wave Quilts, but I didn't find anything here. Lots more to see, but we were getting tired. Back to Arcata, eventually going to Ray's Market for a few light supper items. Fun day.
