Day Two, Tehachapi Isn't that a great word?)

We slept well last night. Breakfast at the motel was pathetic, but it was free!
Since Cary didn't want to get into rush hour traffic we went looking for a Walmart so I could buy socks--when we got to the location, a worker in the parking lot told us it was permanently closed!
By lunchtime we were pretty hungry, finally found a McDonald's--but walked out when we could only order at a kiosk. McDonald's saves money on staff, but loses customer. Then we found a Subway, but that was disappointing too. No public restroom. Palmdale.
Somewhere on El Cajon Pass we had a half-hour slowdown due to a crash (per my GPS).

We are here now, nice room. Found a place to eat supper--Don Perrico--not great service, but my fish tacos were very good. After supper we found a Walmart, so I could get socks, iron pills and a slice of chocolate pie to calm down my husband.

                                                      The view from our room.
