Two Days In A Row

Another gorgeous day of sunshine, although it did start out cloudy (which had me a little worried)! We first went to the museum to renew our membership with the Del Norte Historical Society and were asked by Karen, the lady in charge there, why weren't signed up to be working this year! And when could we work again? So...August 2016 we will be back as tour guides at Battery Point Lighthouse. If you need to plan a vacation, start now--we love to have visitors!

Then we went out to the lighthouse to introduce ourselves to Barbie and Ken (yes, you heard that correctly), the current live-in keepers who will also be there next August. B and K have been having an interesting month since they arrived a little late in July, were not originally scheduled to work, but arrived when the first July keepers couldn't be there. Then the RVers (who are in the park down the way from us) have had problems also; she was in surgery yesterday for a broken wrist! I am not sure how steadily they have worked at all this month. Luckily there have been volunteers from the community to fill in. I left Ken my phone number if they need us. But we are hoping we have a lot more days to play!

So many flowers--hard to resist taking pictures!

Home Depot got the brackets Cary needed to finish working on the shelf we want, so he is back in the carpentry business.

Stay tuned...

We met the couple who will be working in the lighthouse as RVers next month. They came from Missouri, have done work camping lots of times. He had his eye on Cary's bike with the "For Sale" sign on it and talked him down to $15! Now he wants to buy mine for his wife! They have bikes back home, but didn't think there would be a place to ride them. He figures he will sell Cary's before they leave!
