Little Big Horn

Cary has been anticipating this stop for several months. We did some driving and lots of walking to tour the battlefield. It should not have been 99 degrees while we did it!
The markers indicate where fallen soldiers were found.
Cary had to hold on to his hat while reading the information plaque.
The deep red marker indicates where a fallen Native American was found.
I don't know why folks have started dropping coins on and around these markers--does anyone?
This is the site of the Reno-Benteen standoff, the day after Custer lost.
Look carefully and you might see the marker with black inscription (touching the top of a middle fence post)--that is supposedly where Custer was found.
This tribute is to the fallen Native Americans: Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Sioux.

Looking toward the lands the Native Americans occupied

We were going through withdrawal for Mexican food and there was a place nearby. Look at the size of that plate! Those of you who know Cary and have been out to eat with him will be surprised that he brought home leftovers! I have to say, this is not Tucson Mexican food!

No pictures, but afterwards we went to an ice cream social in our park and consumed at least another thousand calories! Yum!
