Newport, Oregon

We always like to stay at the harbor--the view of the bridge is amazing.
After lunch we set up our chairs to read, snack and watch the bridge.

After supper we walked down to the piers, enjoying the view and the fact that the wind had quit blowing!

We put on coats because, being from the desert, we are usually pretty chilly in Newport, but we really didn't need them.

According to our neighbor in the park, the swells were 8 feet high, so no one went out fishing. But crabbing must have been good, because the guy here (look carefully) had buckets of them. As we walked back past him, he asked if we liked crab...and gave us some that he had already cooked!

So, never mind that we had already had supper, done the dishes, and it was 8:30 at night...I melted some margarine and we enjoyed the crab. Cary thinks we should go back tomorrow with our ice chest!
