It started raining during the night (Thursday night, that is), and pretty much drizzled the rest of the day. This is the scene out our back window at breakfast.
We toured this air museum several years ago, once on our own, then again with friends as part of their PT Cruiser Club. We actually got to drive through the museum before stopping to look at all the aircraft housed inside.
This was one of two large blimp hangars built in World War II; the other was destroyed by fire in 1992, but at the time probably was empty or held grain, no planes.
A re-creation of a WWII era café serves food inside, and there is a gift shop. Reading further I discovered that the lease runs out next January. Since we did not take the tour this time, I am not sure how many planes are still left; part of the collection was moved to Madras, Oregon fairly recently.
I keep hoping I can soak up some of this beautiful scenery and weather and squeeze it out when I need it when I get it home next month!
We went to a yard sale, thrift store and antique store in this town, Rockaway, population about 1450.
After supper we decided to try out the DVD player. It is a good thing the closed captioning worked because after getting the new TV (and never even using the DVD player before...) we had no sound throughout the whole movie! It was probably a nice change. We are hoping our friend in Montana can tell us what we need to do...or someone! We admit to being technically challenged.
