Tillamook and More

Driving from Newport to Tillamook was, once again, full of lots of curves and spectacular scenery.
Somehow nothing in the trailer shifted, fell over or jumped out of a drawer--that may be a first! After we got settled we figured out our plan for the three days we are staying here, ate lunch and began our first adventure of the day!

Jane's Fabric Patch had some things I needed!

Then to the Blue Heron Cheese Factory--I am not sure what herons have to do with cheese, and I am not sure I want to know!
These funny looking critters were out in the yard next to the factory also...

And Cary, my resident Cheesehead, took advantage of the cheese samples. But there is still another bigger cheese factory in town to visit!

Before we left the premises, we had to take a look at the old vehicles setting up for the weekend's Old Iron Show. This is a vintage Autocar. The company started in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, in 1911, and if you want to know more, there is a Wikipedia article you can read!

Here is Cary at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. There must be 4000 other people here too! It was all we could do to pass up  the ice cream, but it was almost supper time and we had plans to go out to eat.

Piles of oyster shells attracted the sea gulls outside the restaurant where we ate.

I planned on adding more of today's adventures (Friday), but you will have to log in tomorrow!
